I had other plans for this yarn. Yet the best laid plans sometimes go by the wayside to satisfy the compulsion to knit a scarf. Scarves are good. I could have worse problems you know.

I meant to blog this as I worked on it. Honest. The yarn is my handspun merino-bamboo blend “Fire Opal” hand-painted by the talented Moonlightbaker. The blogging plan went awry though. Well, almost. My friend Opal sent me some delicious handpainted fiber in a care package which enabled my latest knitting project. Can you tell what it is? It’s a spiralling scarf. Had to knit a little. Yeah, just a little teeny bit. I’ll just cast on a few stitches. See how it knits up– then I’ll frog it and wind it back up. That’s the ticket. Pictured are size 11 knitting needles and my swatch. The fabric has a very cool squish and bounce to it.
