“Entitled” what does that mean?
From the Heritage Dictionary:
1. To give a name or title to.
2. To furnish with a right or claim to something: The coupon entitles the bearer to a 25 percent savings. Every citizen is entitled to equal protection under the law.[Middle English entitlen, from Old French entiteler, from Medieval Latin intitulre : Latin in-, provide with; see en-1 + Latin titulus, title.]
How about it means that someone has issues? That they feel ownership reasonably or unreasonably.
Entitlement in that context might be the modern equivolent of the oculus malus, the evil eye. No, I’m not one bent to superstition but I can see the logical tragic outcome of a coveting eye, and that’s what makes me nervous. Everyone suffers, the jettatore suffers, the one with eye cast upon suffers, and the person coveted is reduced to an injured object.
What to do about it? That’s in God’s hands, there’s nothing for me to do but accept that fact.
I just finished the cuff of on Lexi sock, cast on and started the second sock, I think I’ll work this pair as a pair instead of one at a time, that way if I’m shy some yardage for one or the other I can work in a second yarn. Nothing fancy, just some practical little socks with extra long cuffs for her to wear to bed at night.
I’m using the green grassy colored yarn from a more or less recent post.
